ain’t nobody got time for that!
Clearly it’s been a while! And, well, not many more boxes unpacked. Between the house, schools, hockey, friends, and trips the past 2 months has gone by insanely fast! Isn’t that how it works? When you’re having fun – fast, when you’re not having fun – every second feels like a minute.
So Hannah’s doing amazing! She’s settled into the new school and is even making it on time – 90% of the time – scouts honor! She’s busy with her hockey still. The season ended and now it’s on to 4×4, power skating, and edgeworks. I think she kinda likes it! And I’m proud of her because she gives it her all! And all this hard work will pay off for sure! She’s also starting to ‘try’ and shop online and come into her own. I feel like she’s 16 already except she can’t drive. Well, she can drive … me nuts! This summer she’ll be going the Ottawa GeeGee’s hockey camp and maybe Davern for a week. And that’s that. I have a list of things for her to do around here … Paint the shed house, plant some flowers, oh, and have fun!
So Jakey is an all-star! He’s rockin his new school, going 90% of the time … I think. He’s also still busy with the hockey – 4×4, power skating, and edgeworks. He’s trying so hard! He just wants to keep up to his friends and sister who are all a year older. His team season is over now, so I don’t get to go on the ice with him anymore – and I miss that. But I’m learning that Jakey is a-ok without me there! He’s a little monkey
This summer he’s doing the Kevin Haime golf camp. That’s it! I think … He can help Hannah with the list I have
So my coaching season ended. Happy that it awesome! Sad that I won’t get that special group of boys anymore. Each boy had a super quality and I will always remember them as my first hockey student. And I’m proud to say each played immensely improved and I would put them on my bench on my team any day of the week! Now it’s onto house stuff. Finally unpacking, reno’ing, furnishing. It’s going to take a while. I’m not used to all the space. Cleaning/organizing it is a day job! Not to mention the yard work that has to be done. Thank god the kids love to play outside! Strap on their rollerblades and I easily game 1hr of housework time
Other than that, not much has been going on … Same routine everyday. Drive one to school, drive other to Oxford, pick up from Oxford, drive to school, pick up from school, pick up from school, kids play outside with the neighbors and freind’s for about 4 hours … I get nothing done … But in a weird way? I wouldn’t change it for the world!
Here are some photos of the past 2 months. I couldn’t embed them here as there are so many!
More blog updates to come as I get time to rework it …
Cheers,
Sharon
i think i moved?
so i think i moved. it’s all blurry, very blurry, but somewhere in between rinks, holidays, parties, and life, i’ve moved.
dec 17th we got the keys to our new house. dec 18th the moving truck arrived, 8 hours later, 1 broken speaker, 2 tired adults, and 2 confused kids … we called a new place home. It’s beautiful! Lots of space inside and out. Needs a little personalizing but it’s getting there. Since we moved in we’ve had contractors working away. Now it feels a little more like home. I’ve not yet unpacked all, arranged all, or fixed all. BUT … I have years to
I’ll be here for a looooong time! Getting used to the area is taking a little time. I mean all the things I was used to – gas stations, cat food store, groceries, and coffee – all new places. But I’m finding my new places slowly but surely. Also, the start times of the kids new schools is a bit of a challenge but I’m getting the hang of it. Sadly, I don’t know as many people in this area so it’s not as warm ‘n friendly … but that takes time. And it’s getting better!
So moved on the 18th, Ced left for his family in Quebec’s on the 23rd … I went to this kick ass Potluck party on the 23rd – thanks wacky racky! then on the 24th my bro and his fam came to christen our ne pad, and on the 25th i took the kids to hockey sushi – and i wasn’t even the only one there! it was packed! how crazy is that?! finally ced came home … and the unpacking began!
Things from then on got nuts! POD came, POD left, boxes got put away – not unpacked – put away
Lotsa hockey hockey hockey! Super amazing neighbors = new great friends for the kids and a great place to have a glass of wine
A huge snow pile for the kids to play on and a great reason to come home after school!
Hannah played her first real hockey game with referees! It was super crazy! And she had her first breakaway! So proud coming from a girl who was too shy to skate. Jakey also has been kicking some royal butt on the ice – he’s also learning how to take a good hit
So cheer to the new digs and new year!
Sharon

Jakey and his friend/team mate Oscar watching their sister’s hockey game … not that interested clearly!
I’m the new … Coach!

… lots more but too much time has passed to remember!
Hannah – Hockey ‘n stuff
It’s been a crazy month of ups/downs! Hannah has been giving it her all – 120%! She was/is determined to be on the top! Who knew she had it in her? But she does! So she worked so hard so got moved up a ‘stick color’ … there are 5 stick colors in Jr Fun – yellow, green, black, orange, and red. Hannah started in the black group, but wanted to make it with Ella and Olwen … and sure enough – she’s in orange now with Ella … but there’s more! … she also got invited to go on the ‘developmental’ team. it’s a team for girls who want to better their skills, and want to work hard to get better! who would have thunk that my daughter would be on 2 hockey teams?! i’m so proud of her! she just keeps trying! So on the ice she gets 3-4 times/week … like an all-star!
Jakey – Hockey ‘n stuff
Yes, I’m not ‘the wife of a coach’ … i’m the coach baby! can you believe it?! Jakey’s coach for his team had to step down a couple of weeks ago due to work/time commitments. So I asked to take his place. 2 courses, a lot of learning, and some amazing guidance … and now I’m his coach! Officially (on the roster) I’m the Coach of K1 Jedi Knights IP KMHA. I’m uber proud of myself! I might not be the greatest skater, but with my creativeness, warmness, sense of humor, and drive – I know I can do this! So far the kids are having a blast! I keep in constant communication with the parents which really helps! Cheers to new beginnings and a successful coaching career

all in 2 weeks!
short in sweet – it’s been a loooong 2 weeks. ok, 3 weeks. for all those that keep asking, here is how it all went down.

lots of work – little time – big changes …
Well it’s been a world wind of a month! And it’s only the 15th! Well the kids are doing incredible! Both are being the cutest little helpers in … PACKING! We’re moving! After 7 years of being here, we’ve (ok, mostly me) have gotten the bug to move and we (as obnoxious as that sounds) have found the perfect house
It is perfect! OK, I’m biased … but OK, it really is
We’re moving in December – yeah – 2 months away. And (cross your fingers) our house goes up for sale next Monday. The POD arrived this morning, it’s practically full! Sad thing is that I had all this stuff packed in our old house – and we haven’t used most of it. But we’re still bringing it to the new house.
It’s gonna be a crazy one but it’s gonna get done.
The kids are doing great! Hockey this, hockey that, school this, school that, and lots of Wii/PS3.
Anyhow, will write more when things get a little less hectic!
Sharon
